About the CONFERENCE
- In the recent times the world energy consumption pattern is found to grow at an alarming rate. The various solutions promote renewable energy resources, energy efficiency and demand control. One such solution is found in the form of Smart Grid. Smart grid is the layer enabling the electrical network to be operated in an optimal way. This is a reform process involving the participation of utility and its consumers. While it is a reform process, it offers enormous opportunity to capture information about supply, system demand, individual usage, and pricing that fundamentally shifts how electricity is used.
- Many forums are discussing about various facets of smart grid. Ministry of Power, Government of India has conceived a “Smart Grid Task Force” and launched the “India Smart Grid Forum” to study and facilitate smart grid activities.
- By virtue of its unique position and experience over a decade CPRI finds it important to discuss various facets which influence the rolling out of smart grid initiatives. Hence, this International conference on “Roadmap for Smart Grid”.
